I can't see them pursuing new Win10 free activations, either. Years back, when I didn't understand the full 'OEM' license thing, Microsoft would allow me to activate a rebuilt machine with the understanding that it was the ONLY one that key was activated on. As bad as Microsoft can be, they don't tend to execute everyone that oversteps their licensing boundaries at every possibility.

I wonder about the 'activated/legit' thing, though. Once you got used to it, it was pretty good! Would have been even better with a touch screen, and they just dead-ended it when they went back to the Windows 10 'full desktop' interface. As for 8.1, I hated it until I used it for a while on the gaming desktop I'd bought back then. I've seen many older computers run Windows 10 just as well, or BETTER, than they did 7 or 8.
